Our journey
How we got here.
2018
Inspiring awe
We started with the intention of setting a tone and mood on the internet, for a community of creative individuals. We created, curated and distributed our own books, blogs, music and graphic designs, and monetised them online.
2019
Letting others shine
The results from our own content became a model for aggregating, licensing and monetising other people’s work. We collaborated with four freelance bloggers and distributed music for eleven artists to the streaming services.
2020
Data meets creativity
We developed tools to improve our business and make data-driven decisions, bringing machine learning and creative content management together within Black Atmosphere.
2021
Rewarding contribution
We researched autonomous protocols to build robust digital networks, using token economics, game theory and gamification to reward people for solving our community’s hardest problems.
2022 – 2025
Sailing off without a map was marvelous.
When AI arrived, the old charts stopped working, the rules changed faster than anyone could map them, so we navigated by instinct: building, shipping and learning in the open. The clearest landmark of those years was an e-commerce platform we built for Digital Norah. The only thing that kept us going was the quiet confidence that we were doing what we love.
2026
Charting the course, together.
The partner we built for became the partner we build with.
Digital Norah now runs on Black Atmosphere hosting, and our custom software development team builds alongside theirs. That work has produced Norah Store and Norah Delivery, Digital Norah’s flagship products, in which we hold a stake. Norah Connect and Norah Service are next.
